A Weekend Getaway to Waco

The last weekend in February, Monroe and I headed to Waco with our friends Lauren and Derek and there precious little boy Dean to see Baylor's annual Sing. Lauren's sister is a senior this year and her sorority was preforming. The Stephens were nice enough to find us 2 extra tickets, and let us join their family weekend. It was so much fun, and made me want to go back and do college all over again. Lauren and family were not coming until Saturday afternoon, but Monroe and I decided it would be nice to get away for the weekend so we left Friday after work. We arrived in Waco around 6:45, checked into the hotel, unpacked and then went on a little date. We went to dinner and then played shuffle board. We laughed when we got back to the hotel and we in bed at 10:30; Monroe said "you really know you are old when you are on vacation and you still manage to make it home and to bed before 11:00".

We woke up Saturday and ate breakfast at the hotel and then got ready and waiting for the Stephens to arrive. Once they arrived, we met them at SPICE, which is an awesome place to shop in Waco. The girls had lots of fun, while the boys found a comfortable place to sit. We then made the short drive to the Dr. Pepper museum, where we enjoyed REAL Dr. Pepper floats. SOOO yummy!! And yes I had mine made with DDP :) Lauren and Derek then took us to Baylor's campus to see the sights, we went and saw the Baylor Bears which was really cool. After the tour we went back to the hotel and got ready to meet Lauren's family for dinner and then go to watch Sing. Sing was really amazing, Lauren and I kicked Derek and Monroe out of the good seats, and we were front and center for the whole performance. It was GREAT!!!

Sunday we woke up and Monroe was dying to go the the Texas Ranger museum, so we did! Can't really say that us girls enjoyed it, but Monroe was happy! We had lunch and then were on our way back to Dallas.

What a blessing the Stephen's are to us. There are just certain people the the Lord places in your life and you are so grateful, these two are sure some of those people, and friends that will last a lifetime. We love y'all and are so excited for Sing 2012!!!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend, I had to take Laurens, because I forgot my camera battery...tragic!!
